we know that musical instruments are expensive to replace if lost, damaged or stolen but musicians and musical companies have other potential liabilities too, particularly when performing in public. Electrical equipment can cause shocks or fires, people can trip over microphone leads, large speakers can fall or blow over causing injuries, to name just a few potential compensation claims.

MusicGuard is a trading name of Thistle Insurance Services Limited, which is owned by the PIB Group. This was launched in 2015 to bring together highly specialised insurance brokers under one roof and they are financed by private equity firms Apax Partners and the Carlyle Group. Ampband is an organisation for UK singers, musicians and bands. They are not for the top earning performers though; they cater for those earning less than £85,000 a year. This does not include insurance for instruments or anything else but this can be provided by Hencilla Canworth, who are brokers specialising in arranging cover for members of the performing arts, at a claimed discounted rate. They can put potential clients in touch with performers, and provide sample contractual forms and a copyright registration service.
Insure4Music is a trading style of Ripe Insurance Services Limited. Their musician insurance has several levels of cover for singers, music teachers, bands, orchestras, DJs etc, for both instruments (and their accessories, such as cases or amps) as well as public liability indemnity.
